Introducing Love, Frankie + Exciting News!

I am thrilled to introduce you one incredible woman! and announce some exciting news!

Frankie is a talented watercolour artist and a stay at home mum of 3. She loves being outdoors and in nature, her favourite colour is yellow, and she is secretly a huge goofball!

She is also the founder of Love, Frankie, creating beautiful watercolour art for wedding invitations and children's wall decor.
I always say, when we share our story, we inspire others. Frankie has an incredible story and I wanted to share it with you, so she kindly answered a few questions for us.

Social media is a great place to connect with wonderful humans, if you allow yourself to follow the right accounts that will inspire, educate and motivate you, and that is how we found our way to each other, Eagle & Owl + Love, Frankie.

After connecting on many levels about motherhood, as in being a mother to actual children plus a plant mum, we knew we were in good company.

Q: How did art find it’s way into our life? Where did it all start?
When my daughter was born in 2019, we were admitted to a mother and baby unit as I was suffering from severe postpartum depression and almost took my own life. During my stay I participated in a compulsory art therapy session and was introduced to watercolour painting. I totally fell in love with watercolour and have been painting almost everyday since.
Q: It is common to hear about art therapy yet I feel the benefits aren’t exactly as well-known as they should be! Can you share your experience and what you see the true benefits are?
I find that when I am painting, my anxious mind is quiet. It's a very mindful activity, and practicing mindfulness can be beneficial for anxiety and practicing being present. I also learnt that art therapy shifts the focus away from the outcome, and more towards the process of creating, and how that process makes you feel.
Q: Congratulations on the launch of your new product, the affirmation print. What inspired you to create this personalised piece of art? and why do you think this is important to have this in your home?
Thank you! I'm quite open about my struggles with mental health, and I have found that practicing affirmations has been very beneficial to me, so I wanted to share this with others, through art. Our surroundings really affect our mood and the way we feel about ourselves, so having affirmations in the form of wall decor is a really lovely visual reminder.
Q: What advice would you give to aspiring artists, particularly those who are also balancing the responsibilities of motherhood or parenthood?
This is a hard one. I'm still trying to figure out the balance myself and I definitely struggle with it daily. I think what helps is finding what works for your family in trying to allocate times or days where you can focus on creating. I do most of my art when my little ones are asleep, and on the weekends when my husband is at home.
Q: It can be a challenging journey, how have you overcome hardship on the entrepreneurial journey and what keeps you going through the tough times?
I'm really up and down with it to be honest. There are days where it's all very overwhelming and I do feel like giving up. But I have had some truly beautiful, supportive, and kind customers along the way, and knowing that I have brought joy to others with my art, is what keeps me going.
Q: If you could have one extraordinary super power, what would it be? (apart from being unique, which is very much our own individual super powers!)
I've always wanted to fly!
Q: Favourite flower?
Yellow tulips!
Q: Tea or coffee?
Coffee. Caffeine makes my anxiety worse, but I absolutely love the taste, so I tend to have decaf.
Q: If you were an animal, what would you be?
I think I would be a cat. I have a cat, Peanut Butter, he sleeps most of his days away, and I absolutely love sleep! My favourite thing to do is get cosy and warm, drink some hot chocolate, and have a snooze.
